just a quick question really, ive had this for about 6 months now std. edition, but I wnat to make it more realistic, with voices for ATC countries I am flying over and with holding patterns, and emergency procedures. also I have seemeed to make my home base london stansted, so I was wondering if there were any addons I could buy to make this look like what stansted really looks like. also any other aircraft I can install onto it, my choice would be the 757. dont suppose anyone has any answers ???

RE: Flight simulator 2002
World Air Sim were the publishers. They stole money from developers who gave them things for the “Live” series. World Air Sim sold the other developers stuff in their products but them dissappeared as soon as the first bill came through. Throught the FS community there is a boycot of World Air Sim products as they wrecked part of the community and send good developers bust.
I said nothing about compatability with GB Airports. The grpahics are known to be bad looking and thats wht I expressed.
Also, I didnt say JUST Northern England, I said basically everything above it so your comments arnt founded and i know North England was supposed to be due out in December but there has been a delay and someone close to the company now sujests March.

RE: Flight simulator 2002
andrewm,
Do you have any proof with regards to GB Airports not being fully compatible with FS2002?? I have used it and I have no problems at all with any of the features in the game.
If you look above the WebMaster has already said the Northern England will be out in the next week or so not “over the next few years” as you so put it.
It is not World Air Sim selling the Live series it is Key Publishing, so why should it matter that they are not about??

RE: Flight simulator 2002
DO NOT BUY GB AIRPORTS!
GB Airports is good for FS2000 but terrible for FS2002. If you want realism go over to www.uk2000scenery.com and they sell airports for FS2002 which are made from real photos etc. It is known as the best Uk scenery because it is made with real pictures etc!
It features trucks that service your aircraft, working docking gates as well as catering trucks which services your aircraft. ALl the taxiway systems are fully lit and 110% accurate!
GB Airports is getting an upgrade BUT not until FS2004 comes out.
the VFR scenery will be coming out over the next few years so its a while til Scotland, Wales, NI and Northern England get our turns at “dive bombing local footie grounds”
PSS A320 is also the best, as LukeEGTE
BTW, DO NOT BUY THE “LIVE” series. These were produced by World Air SIm who since have “dissappeared” with around £1.5 million of other peoples money!

RE: Flight simulator 2002
Hi Jay330,
well for a start hows about joining up on VATSIM, an online ATC Network, basically a huge multiplayer game with ATC – It can be quiet during th day but at night it’s brilliant!
A/c – probably the most popular about are the Dreamfleet B734 series, PSS A320 and as Wys says the PIC B767 – Thats quality!. Have you got some other add ons such as FS NAV – a more accurante planning system.
Scenery can often be expensive – the saying is you pay for what you get, but if £30 is a little too much for yourself hows about downloading via sites such as www.flightsim.com or www.avsim.com
VA’s or virtual airlines – they can either tend to follow Real World airlines such as British Airways, or be purely vertual – totally madeup. Obviously some are better set-ups than others and designed for differant purposes – either VFR in a little Cessna or Long Haul in a B744! It’s up to you – www.whiteroseva.com – hehehe – i’l use the oppertunity for a bit of advertising!

Worse than being a Gorgie faithful, I was in amongst them with my camera on Saturday, not a pretty sight at the best of times, at least I had my luck Saints hat to protect me from the flying* pies.
*asterisk denotes use of aviation related terminology in a completely unaviation related posting (lol)

RE: Flight simulator 2002
I think it’s pretty good, although my demands with flight sims tend to be more about accurate scenery than accurate flying. I like to get up and just look around at things from above so GB Airports is good in this respect as the airport layouts and static aircraft are very convincing.
I’ve never tried the docking gates as I normally just fly the Cessnas on FS2002 but I’ll have a try with a Boeing to see what happens. You could though have a look at the product website, I think there’s a forum on there that may give you the answers, it also has some good screenshots there too.
Anyone know when those photo realistic add ons for UK scenery will be extended to include the rest of the UK ? I quite fancy dive bombing my local footie ground after Saturday’s result (lol)

RE: Flight simulator 2002
I’m not into flight sim (far too much like the day job!) but I really must recommend 767 Pilot in Command. You will need a high level of knowledge to use it well but it is a near perfect representation of the 767 and its systems. Any other aeroplane I have tried on flight sim is a game.

I’ve got GB Airports for the standard Flight Sim 02. It has most of the UK airports in detail including Stansted.
