I’m hopefully going to Brussels in mid March to see an ex-colleague.
Can anyone tell me what aircraft type British European and SN Brussels use on their services from BHX to BRU?
I use to keep in touch with BHX news and movements, but now I’ve moved to the sunny LTN area, I’ve lost track.
Thanks for your help.

RE: British European BHX-BRU
To an extent.
Airports often use platitudes and exaggeration to bolster the ego of newcomers, and existing carriers realise this and take it for what it is (ie a large pinch of salt). I think the praise to Flybe for serving the IOM from LCY, NCL, BRS and BHD was fairly gushing too – so Flybe know what it’s all about.
LPL was the same – Ryanair served LPL-DUB for years and years then along comes Easyjet…

RE: British European BHX-BRU
When I flew BHX-EXT on their last SH360 (G-OHBD) we were given a hot bacon roll with brown sauce. Bueno! Claire Short MP was on that flight too.
I’ve always thought highly of BE, (and not just because they supported my dissertation with interviews).
I was a bit miffed with the way BHX management shoved BE to one side when Mytravel Lite came along. Flybe have been a long standing airline at BHX and are the second biggest operator out of BHX. For BHX to say that Mytravel Lite were practically the first low fare carrier out of BHX is a bit stupid, as they don’t want to be upsetting important based airlines.
Anyone agree?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-01-03 AT 09:14 PM (GMT)]It’s been a while since I flew on Flybe, but I took IOM-LCY and back again for a long weekend break, in late March 2002. Dash 8-200 outbound and Dash 8-300 return.
They served tea/coffee and a biscuit. No other food.
Time before that was also IOM-LCY, in August 2001 – no food then either.

Flybe. were offering GCI-LGW for around £50 for their special Jubilee offers, which I took advantage of. Also their GCI-SOU was around £49 plus you can now connect on to the European flights, which is a bonus.
Flybe. definitely do provide some quite good offers so it is wise to grab them.
Personally I would fly on BE to BRU. Much cheaper, good and reliable airline, plus a nice ham and cheese croissant (or have they scrapped them, since they went low cost?)

I’m envious. For people living out of the way (like the Isle of Man, or the Channel Islands) there’s no such thing as £2 flights. Best way is usually to book a flight all they way through to the final destination on BA and benefit from slightly cheaper connections.

RE: British European BHX-BRU
Cheers. I’ve got a BE Dash 8-300 on top of my tv.
BE are asking approx £52, where as BA want about £40 more than that and SN are about £5 more than BA, even though BA/SN is the same flight. I favour BE (should my plans materialise).
I’m already flying six times in the next few months.
Germanwings 15/02 STN-CGN-STN for £2 return inc. tax (and they have leather seats and inflight tv!).
Ryanair STN-BGY-STN, STN-CIA-STN, STN-CRL-STN, STN-LBC-STN
SqueezyJet/Go STN-BIO-STN.
All day trips, except for Rome which is a weekend jobby. (with work mates). Can’t wait.
My first time on “low cost” airlines. Fly Stansted to no-man’s land airport for £1 one way!
(I’m getting cynical now, sorry).

Yep my mistake, BA flights stopped in November!

Isn’t BA a code-share with SNBA?

RE: British European BHX-BRU
3 out of the 4 BE flights are CRJ’s but one is a Dash 8-400.
BE1337 that departs 1945 is a D8.
Also BA operate the route with an ERJ-145.

Don’t diss flybe.com! I think they are a superb airline.

SN Brussels use the Avro RJ on all flights between BHX and BRU. I cannot say about BE, but then again they will not be as good as SN.
Sloeber. Simply sensational.

RE: British European BHX-BRU
Good gosh, hello Wingflaps. We have not seen you in a while!
To answer your question, SNBA use the RJ 100 and Flybe. use the CRJ.

I would imagine the 146 or RJ series aircraft types?
