TransAsia Airways cargo plane crashes!

Two pilots are missing after a TransAsia Airways cargo plane crashed into the Taiwan Strait at the weekend, according to reports from China.

The ATR-200 turbo prop was flying from the Taiwanese capital, Taipei to Macau on the Chinese mainland. Wreckage from the aircraft has been seen off the coast of the Penghu Islands.

TransAsia, a Taiwan-based airline, has been flying regular freight services with the ATR planes since early 2002. It also operates regional and domestic passenger flights and became the country’s first privately-owned carrier when it was founded in 1951 as Foshing Airlines.

My condolences to the friends and family of the crew who died.
The Taiwan Straits sure have not been very lucky this year.
