BBC2 Scotland will be showing the first part of a 3 part series looking at the history of Scottish aviation and aviators, starting this Monday, December 2nd at 8.30pm. It’s called “Flying Scots”
The blurb from the Radio Times is as follows… “Beginning a three part series on innovative Scottish aviators, ‘Pioneers and Prototypes’. Focusing on the race to conquer the air, this programme considers how some of the most rudimentary flying machines paved the way for modern flight.”
Don’t know if it’s on BBC network, but I can tape it for anyone who wishes to see it.

RE: New BBC series on Scottish Aviators
I do indeed work at QMD Bhoy, trust me it’s easier this way (LOL) I might have a better chance of reanimating dead tissue than mounting a succesful raid on the BBC’s dark and dusty vaults.
That said I’ve already received a reply to my plea and am looking forward to a copy winging it’s way to me.

RE: New BBC series on Scottish Aviators
I watched aiprort on BBC 1, myself… had a couple of brief looks at BBC 2, but not particularly interested in interviews…
Ren, don’t you work at Queen Margaret Drive? can’t you badger someone there to sort you a tape out…

RE: New BBC series on Scottish Aviators
Well last night’s 1st programme was very good. Lot’s of nice retro footage and interviews with Beardmore’s of Inchinnan and Weir’s,of Cathcart. Didn’t know the first East/West trans-atlantic flight was by a Scotsman either! Jim Mollinson, Amy Johnson’s husband.
Unfortunately my “shiny new DVD recorder” made a dog’s ar*se of the recording and suffered a ‘disc error’ ! Anyone got a tape they could lend me ?

RE: New BBC series on Scottish Aviators
That’s right, I forgot about that. I just saw the promo for the series and it looks pretty good. Lot’s of shots of Loganair and B/Cal stuff!
As I say anyone who wants a tape that can’t get BBC2 Scotland by whatever means, feel free to give me a shout. I’ll be recording it on my shiny new DVD recorder. (thank you Santa)

RE: New BBC series on Scottish Aviators
anyone with Sky Digital gets the regional BBC2 Networks (except Scottish football, coz they ain’t got a licence for networkwide transmission, but that’s a btw)
Channels 960-963, I think
