As most know, April 8th was the cut off date for holders of British licences to continue to fly EASA aircraft. The LAA have just announced a temporary exemption by EASA, enabling GB licence holders to continue to fly EASA aircraft after that date until next June – date in June to be confirmed.
The medical requirements are slightly ambiguous and merit clarification. I think that there is a chance that this temporary exemption might become permanent.

The CAA have just announced an extension until April 2020. All those with GB issued licences will be able to fly EASA registered aircraft in GB airspace up to that date.

So far as the self declaration medical for EASA licences is concerned, the period of validity is one year finishing on the 8th April, 2019.
The medical applies to VFR, max. four people in an SEP with an MAUW of two tons. It also applies only to those holding a licence issued before 8th April 2018.

At the moment the exemption continues to the 7th June 2018.
