[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-10-02 AT 07:14 PM (GMT)]I was just wondering about easyjet selecting the A319. does this makes sense as low cost air travel is booming and an A319 can only hold a maximum of 145 passengers is the A319 a good long choice strategy. wouldnt it of made sense if they ordered 40 a319 40 a320 and 40 a321 as landing spaces at airports are now very few landing spots at most european airports and even the smaller airports are filling up fast as well. what does everyone else think ???

RE: easyJet – have they selected the wrong type of aircrafts
From an operational standpoint it is a very sensible decision. By the way they have been offered the 319 in a config that has one more seat than they currently have on their 737’s. Don’t forget that easyJet have minimal requirements for galleys!

RE: easyJet – have they selected the wrong type of aircrafts
As part of the deal easyjet have the option to alternate within the A320 fleet – when u order certain types of plane u order a production slot to start off with (A318/19/21 are all built on the same line at the moment with A320 to join sometime) so it’s easy for Airbus to chop and change
