Schiphol ‘friendliest European airport’:
AMSTERDAM — In terms of customer friendliness and the range of food and shops on offer, Schiphol airport in Amsterdam has been rated Europe’s best.
Daily newspaper the Telegraaf said the results were obtained from an investigation conducted by international research bureau J D Power & Co.
The inquiry examined the satisfaction of more than 10,000 passengers at 46 airports across the globe and Schiphol was the only European airport to score a satisfactory result in all categories.
Both Gatwick and Heathrow airports in London scored below the average. Only their shops were given a score of satisfactory.
The airports of Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Frankfurt also scored below average.
Chek Lap Kok in Hong Kong was judged to be the best airport in the world in the large airport category, while Changi and Singapore were rated as the best middle-sized airports.

They are working constantly on the airport, they build an entire new entrance hall, an train station (underneeth the airport), new wings, new piers etcetera.
But a very nice airport indeed.

RE: Schiphol ‘friendliest European airport’
Schipol is fantastic. I loved it 13 and 11 years ago, respectively. And I loved it again this summer, even though It looks rather different from back then. Did they do considerable ammounts of renovation since then? Also, they classify Changi as a middle sized airport? You gotta’ be kidding me! That airport is huge! Takes forever to go from one side to the other, if you have connecting flights on opposite ends, and I’ve not even talking about from T1 to T2, I’m talking from T2 to T2! Doesn’t bother me though, I enjoy the walk, and the scenery in there, which is amazing. I could spend days in there.
