Hi!
As a Norwegian living in Manchester, I often fly between OSL and MAN.
Normally i use BA’s direct flight with the EMB-145, but bechause i was late buying tickets the plane was full so i didn’t fancy paying more than 300 quid to fly directly. So i ended up with SAS via CPH.
But when we landed at MAN, we were told to exit at the rear of the aircraft, then we were all transferred to buses and driven to the terminal. Nothing special there, just a quick glance at my passport.
The first time it happened i just thought they didnt have any available international gates or something, but it happens every time. But on the outbound flight we walk straight on, not sure if that’s the same gate though.
It’s been a while since we were raiding and pillaging, so why? 🙂

Yeah but we had to go thru customs anyway. Maybe it parked on a domestic gate, and then they shipped us over to the customs area?

When you’re flying from Copenhagen, it’s deemed a ‘domestic’ flight… ie, within the EU.
Whereas, coming from Oslo, you’re entering the EU at MAN, so you need to clear EU customs first.

Totally right.
The same here in France. After the big event of 9/11 the media reported high standard safety in all the airports.
Now the situation is back to prior 9/11
