I have seen many pics of American airlines when visiting Zurich are accompanied by a armored vehicle or a polic van ….. maybe those pics i saw were coincidence or they do provide this for American carriers?
This is just one such example ….. I have also seen a pic with armoured vehicle accompanying a El Al jet.

El Al was the first airline to deploy sky marshals too(long before 9/11).

In the past El al was operating from ORY before they moved to CDG.
Since the attack they experienced on one of their flights early 70’s , I have always seen this kind of protection when an El-AL flight was about to land or take-off. One of this nice military vehicule was on duty at each end of the runway and an other one escorting the jet to terminal. It has nothing to do with 9/11.

I don’t know all the details, but it is my understanding that El Al aircraft have been accompanied by police/military for some time now. I believe the reason is due to terrorism, etc..

For the EL AL, im not sure, maybe because of all the violence that goes on in israel?
