Virgin Express Aborts Plans

Virgin Express has stepped back with its plans of starting services from Cologne/Bonn in December 2002. Instead, it will concentrate on its Brussels Activities.
Earlier this summer, Virgin Express announced plans to start low cost services from Cologne/Bonn. This was becuase there was a lack of low cost air travel services in the German Market. Since then, TUI and Lufthansa announced their plans to start low cost services from Cologne aswell. TUI with Hapag Llyod Express and Lufthansa with Germanwings.
This does make sense because if there were low cost services being flown by HL-Express, Germanwings, Virgin Express, Germania Flug and dba all from Cologne/Bonn, Virgin Express would not have a profitable business.
It does however plan to monitor the market in case it plans to start flights from Cologne in the long term.
