RE: Airbus A320
To put it another way…presumably you have no difficulty in driving a right hand drive manual car with the gear stick on your left. Apart from local driving differences you will have no difficulty going to Europe and driving the same type of car in left hand drive with the gear stick on your right.
Hope this helps

RE: Airbus A320
Flying isn’t about being left or right handed. In commercial aircraft the captain in the left seat has his left hand on the yoke/joystick and the thrust levers in the right and vice versa for the right seat pilot. This is the same in a Boeing as in an Airbus.

RE: Airbus A320
I know what your saying but what if you had a left handed first officer ? I think its just a case of you train on a/c type and adapt to it. Then when you swap seats you have to do the same again.

Lyndon.

RE: Airbus A320
Nah, its left. Im right handed but i still use my left hand on the control column, I use my right for throttle. It just depends on your rank.

RE: Airbus A320
Well a friend said like because 9 in 10 people r right handed the captain would sit on right hand side therefore have a been control of the side stick. Just my A320 becuase it is the cockpit i am building!

RE: Airbus A320
As far as i know in all fixed wing commercial operations the Capt sits in left seat and thats no exception on the A320.What exactly did you mean “Because of the side stick ?”

Lyndon.
