RE: viewing planes
I can also add the Seattle is very good, although the there is not very many exotic types to view.
Even though we are not the United States, Toronto has excellent viewing areas. You can park on the top of terminal one and see the entire airfield. However, they will be destroying this terminal (and terminal two) for a one massive terminal and this will compliment terminal three.

Trust me, if you’re kickin’ it in the Proud Bird parking lot spotting and taking pics, nobody is going to say anything.

RE: viewing planes
Only one I tried to view and take photos at was Orlando and apart from approach shots it was pretty impossible.
The US is very strict on anyone even watching planes after 9/11, they don’t really understand us lot as well as here in the UK and many other countries.

LAX is tremendous for approach shots on rwy’s 25R/L. From the Proud Bird parking lot, you can just park your car free of charge, sit back and enjoy. If anybody needs directions, let me know.
