My wife is born there. Attached 2 main visitors there.
JetBlue, a fast groth Low budget airline is the US who has chosen LGB because of obvious cost cuts compared to LAX.
B717. as you know the historical Mc Donnel Douglas plant is still there and Boeing keeps on producing 717 there. (so far)

JetBlue also flies into ONT, which is about 47 miles from LAX and about the same from LGB, as well. They serve JFK non-stop from there. A much better alternative to LAX for people living in the Inland Valley, such as myself. ONT was actually the first West Coast flight for JetBlue 2 years ago. I still fly UA from ONT via LAX, and pay basically the same fare JetBlue charges. Thanks Jetblue. :7
