Amazing!

The most amazing thing happened to me last Thursday. Something I didn’t think was even possible, but it happened anyway.

I DIDN’T ENJOY A FLIGHT!

Let me tell you what happened. I was flying back home from Barcelona, Spain to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It was with Easy jet so you don’t expect to much of it.
Anyway.
After I had woken up much to early and as an consequence had gone to the airport much too early I had to wait for tree hours before my plane was going to leave (on time). I was at the beginning a bit frustrated because I had to leave my bike behind in the South of France.
I was bored so I started to shop and I could not find a single Dutch paper! Not one. And for a news junkie like me with four weeks of not being able to follow it that was hard, very hard indeed. On top of things when I checked in a forgot to take out a bottle of wine, which at that time I thought must be broken for sure, with all the mess that’s gonne to bring not to mention that I had to arrive back home without a present for my sister. So a bit of worrying here, ah well c’est la vie, I thought at that time.
Then we went, everything was OK, except that I was folded up in my seat, I’m just about average size in Holland 1m85 something and not fat or anything but ok. When we arrived in Holland, that is over the Belgium Dutch border we really started the descend into Amsterdam. And there it really started. You always hear Babies crying when in a descend. That’s because there ears are hurting because of the pressure. We adults know what to do and so it’s not really a problem. Well normally. Now it really hurted like HELL. 15 minutes of pain in my ears and I couldnot get it away, it started a head age which took some 24 hours before that was gone. But OK ##### happens.
When landing at Schiphol the hurdle must be over, or so I thought. Landed on time well with 2 minutes to spare, even. I saw the new gate’s at Schiphol for the first time, very nice indeed.
I was in a better mood then 10 minutes before and things where looking up for me or that’s what I thought at the time. I was going to get my back and the a short train ride and I would be home again.
After waiting for 20 minutes for my luggage, Schiphol decided it was time to test my patients a little more, how they did that you might be wondering by now, well quite easy, just let the belt brake where you can pick up you bags and that will set you back at least an hour. After remembering what could have happened to my bag (the bottle of wine was still in the back, unprotected) That didn’t help a bit. Finally the belt was up and running again and there I could see my bag, which I waited for so long, well really long fore. And then the sun was breaking true the cloud deck, the bottle wasn’t broken at all.
But after spending a period abroad you forget what the Dutch national railways can do for you. nothing. Having had a delay for more the one hour I finally arrived back home getting up at six AM and being home at 17h00 you are really beat up, I can tell you that.

regards,

jw
