RE: Quiz Time.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-10-02 AT 07:13 PM (GMT)]Stanstead is to become the new LHR so to speak. On the BBC London news sometime last week, it was reported that 40% of the current LHR flights, would be moved to Stanstead when the 3 new runways are up a running. This is because it is said that STN will be able to cope a lot more than any other airport in the UK, eith the increasing air traffic problem. Ths idea, has put forward so that some of the strain can be taken from LHR.

LHR will still recive 60% flights.

RE: Quiz Time.

40% of LHR traffic to STN?

Is this a figure of what will happen or what the government hope will happen? I can’t see any airline wanting to move to Stansted. Every one wants to fly from Heathrow which is why its so overcrowded now.

RE: Quiz Time.

yes, it’s nowhere near full scale. It is a mockup, should have made that clearer… instead of saying it’s composed of.

RE: Quiz Time.

I don’t think the LHR fire rig is actual aircraft components just a mock up to give a simulation of fighting these styles of configuration.

RE: Quiz Time.

haven’t the foggiest…

except for the LHR fire rig.

It’s composed of a 747 front cabin (to simulate evacuation of the upper deck should a 747 require evacuation), and the rear of a DC-10, (to simulate engine fire on rear engine mounted a/c).

ZRH fire rig, I’ve probably been past it a fair few times (I’ve been through ZRH on about a dozen trips)… but can’t for the life of me remember what it is…

RE: Quiz time.

If Saab is correct then it can’t be as Transavia only operate short haul, usually charters (certainly don’t fly to Japan).

RE: Quiz time.

Whats the deal with the top one? Is it celebrating something with all the flags in? Is it still around now or was it a past colour scheme.

Can’t remember seeing anything like that anywhere thats all.
