RE: B747-400ER first pic!

The aircraft in the photo that Kabir T linked to and the one that is being referred to in the magazine, is one and the same.
N747ER ( the prototype ), which was earlier seen on the production line with the banner, will be delivered to Qantas as VH-OEE when the flight testing programme ( which began on 31st July ) is complete.
The first aircraft physically delivered to Qantas will be the second one off the production line for the airline, that will become VH-OEF.
VH-OEE will be delivered to Qantas a few weeks later, once the test equipment has been removed from the aircraft, and the interior reconfigured.

RE: B747-400ER first pic!

Sorry to tell you this buddy but Air International’s latest issue (For me anyway- the June 2002) has a pic of the first 744ER in build and seen clearly on it’s fuselage is a banner which reads:

“Fifty Second Boeing 747 for QANTAS”

QAS being the the first customer for the ER and all that, but nice shot of the prototype though!

Give me coffee and no-one gets hurt!
