HS Trident 3B G-AWZO

Was just wondering if anybody knows the intended fate of this aircraft. She allegedly belongs to the DeHavilland Aviation Heritage Centre at LondonColney in Herts, but she’s currently sitting in the middle of what was once Hatfield aerodrome. The whole area is being redeveloped, and she currently sits marooned on the only hard piece of ground on the entire quagmire-like site.I spent Saturday evening having a look round her (and the old BAe hanger and adjascent control tower, all due for demolishion) and she has been vandalised by the kids from a local estate and beaten about by the weather. The interior is now filled with rubbish, with many parts broken or torn out completely.A number of windows have been smashed and a couple of doors are missing,so the weather is now taking it’s toll on the interior aswell. It would be a hell of a task to restore her even if you could transport her somehow. All in all,I can’t help thinking she’s a lost cause, but we live in hope…

Perhaps one of the many air museums will take the opportunity to restore and put it on show, for example like at Duxford, but this is doubtful, considering its condition.
