Subscription Perks?

I renewed my subcription to Airliner World this month and have just received the first of 12 issues (or have I)?

Things have changed over the last year and I need some help…

I paid something like £37.20 for my subcription for the year and simply filled out a renewal form which came with the last issue. This worked out at £3.10 an issue. Do you still get a free binder with a year’s subscription?

Also, I noticed in the August 2002 issue that a 1 year subscription for the UK is now just £33.00(!!) What a saving, surely the best time to secure a one year subscription to the best aviation mag on the shelves and wait for it… they’re even throwing in 2 free extra issues.

Can someone help me – am I paying an extra £4 for two mags less?

RE: Subscription Perks?

I rung them today and asked what all this was about. It’s rather deceiving the way the order form on page 48 works.

£33.00 for a one year UK subscription + plus two free issues. Surely, to most people it could be misinterpreted. You pay £33.00 for 12 issues (12 copies, one each month) and get the 13th and 14th free? No, it doesn’t work like that.

This simply means you pay for 10 and the 11th and 12th are free. It does not mention this and if you’re new to the magazine, you won’t be aware of the £5 or so saving on a year’s subscription and may assume you are getting 14 issues.

I was given a choice and could have an extra 2 issues on top of the 12 I have already paid for or I could get the binder – I went for the binder but still find the order form on page 48 of the August issue incredibly misleading.

RE: Subscription Perks?

I got a binder when I renewed my subscription. If you haven’t got one then you should ask for one as they come in useful.I think you can order them off the AW website.
