RE: bmi baby new Cardiff hub

It definately seems that they have choose to compete very close with GO, since Cardiff and Bristol are quite close. I think they will offer many of the same destinations offered by GO from Bristol. However, after some research it seems as if Cardiff is a weird move, as it has quite a small catchment area when compared to Bristol. If you look at same-carrier services at Bristol and Cardiff, BRS services usually have at least twice the capacity.Though the fact that BA have nearly abandoned Cardiff could be a reason why bmi baby have chosen this airport.

RE: bmi baby new Cardiff hub

Well when I lived in Wales every weekend I travelled from Belfast to Wales on a friday and back to Belfast on a Sunday during ’97/’98. Back them old days the best way to get to your destination was to go to Bristol and Birmingham this was the most popular way with most of the South and Eastern areas of Wales. Not sure how popular it is now!

RE: bmi baby new Cardiff hub

So now we have GO at Bristol and bmi baby at Cardiff.Be nice to see how this affects GO’s flights as I would presume that many of the Welsh cross over to Bristol for flights to Europe from there, but now they have the chance to go from Cardiff.I believe 100 new jobs are being created.
