VOR – which one is it ?

You’re approaching the overhead of a VOR, the CDI is tremblng, are you in:

The zone of confusion ?

The zone of silence ?

The cone of silence ?

The cone of confusion ?

I was brought up on the ‘zone of confusion’. Others say that I’m not so much on it as in it. Perpetually.

I admit that I had been advised to have my ears dewaxed.

John

I’ve read the discussion on pprune, I was always brought up and taught it is the “cone of confusion”.

Haven’t used a VOR for years, I think when I did that stage was known as ‘A lucky fluke’

I like Geoffrey Boycott’s “corridor of uncertanty”. I think that it works well for this particular aviation application.

Wasn’t ‘The Cone Of Silence’ a movie?
