I spent the day yesterday in Dublin just for a day out. I usually do this with Rynair, but now they have slipped to the bottom of my list of airlines to travel with, and the fact that Aer Lingus were only £2 more expensive at £36 return, you can guess who I opted to fly with!
We got to LHR about an hour before the flight, and checked in with the easy to use Self Service check-in desk. We selected our seats for the outbound flight, the only 2 window seats sadly being in row 32! We also checked in for our return flight, although it didnt seem to give us the option of choosing seats, although we got 10E an 10F which were the ones we wanted anyway!
The chap I was with left his wallet on the car park shuttle bus, so after a rush landside, then back through security to airside a second time we sprinted to the gate arriving just as it was closing. Thankfully there was a man arguing about the crew refusing to accept his ridiculously oversized bag as cabin baggage so we made it on.
The flight was very uneventful, departing off 27R, and getting a few in flight pics from the departure, cruise, and the single circuit we made in the hold outside Dublin.

An ACA 763:

The approach was very interesting, the wind was gusting up to 30kts, and we were all over the place. We touched down quite late on the runway, landing on the left wheels first before stopping very abruptly. We then walked round to the mound on the other side of the airport, which took about 25 minutes.
This lot of pics are all the British aircraft that visited today, the next lot the foreign visitors. I wont bore you with all the Ryanairs, Aer Lingus’s, and Aer Aranns!
