Hi there everybody.
There are a few airline flight codes that are troubling me at the moment. The first one i’m going to mention (i’ll mention the others as they come to me!) i’ve seen operating out of MCT and NCL. Holiday destinations are served and the code is SWL
‘Sunworld’ or somthing??? anyway…can anybody give me the airline and info on it?
Regards
Ben

RE: Airline flight codes
SWL= Transjet.
Thanks everyone…and T5 for that wonderful insight into yet another branch of JAL!
I have only noticed SWL popping up on arrivals around the UK this summer. They sound terrible! I hope ITV don’t make a docusoap of Transjet!
Thanks again
Ben

RE: Airline flight codes
The delay reported on BBC LDN was actually 26 hours. Two of there flights from Spain were cancelled tonight and the SWL747, Zakynthos – Manchester flight due in at 22.35 tonight is delayed till 10.45 t/m because of tech problems on the MD-80 again ……

RE: Airline flight codes
Transjet have indeed a very bad reputation, not just for delays either.
I did manage to get a photo at EMA, this was only 1 hour late!
For codes try my database on my web site:

RE: Airline flight codes
Transjet must be the worst airline in the UK for delays,13 hours I think one was delayed at NCL for!Even got an apparence for its delays on BBC LDN!That shows you….

RE: Airline flight codes
Transjet seem to have had quite a few problems in the last few months.
I believe they are owned by the same person that owned Air Ops,who
flew those lovely Tri-Stars in various colour schemes a few years ago.

RE: Airline flight codes
I feel a right indiot now! I’ll track down the site site which told me it was a Japanese Airline!!
It is indeed the Swedish Airline Transjet, their website can be found at http://www.transjet.se/ and is really quite poor because just about all of it is under construction!
Interesting…
How coincidental. Tomorrow, it will be a year to the day that 12th June 2001 a Transjet MD83 SE-RBI had to a have an emergency evacuation when smoke filled the cockpit area. The aircraft eventually took off 11 hours late minus some passengers who refused to re-board it.
Funny stuff!

RE: Airline flight codes
I think swl is a Swedish airline Transjet who are rapidly getting a reputation as being a tad unreliable.Operate MD80 series aircraft and B747 classics.

RE: Airline flight codes
Sorry, I’ll take that back, I’ve been doing some research…
I think they operate only 737-400s and fly to the following destinations and do not fly international routes: Tokyo Haneda, Osaka Itami, Fukushima, Komatsu, Okayama, Matsuyama, Kochi, Fukuoka, Naha, Ishigaki, Miyako, Kumejima, Yonaguni.
Possibly something to do with JAL judging by their logo, what’d you think?
