Checked out the AAIB website and nothing for Worcestershire in the 1980s.

http://www.aaib.gov.uk/publications/formal_reports/formal_report_archive/formal_reports_1989_1980.cfm

If you could find out exactly where (maybe it was a military aircraft)…

…probably not:

RE: Info required

Sorry EGNM I haven’t because the picture I saw was of that Monarch 757 being wet by fire cannons at Faro, not Gibraltar.I will keep looking to see if any come about though.

RE: Info required

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 31-05-02 AT 03:37 PM (GMT)]It is currently sitting on the ramp at Gib with a very bent fuselage as It appears the unfortuate pilot made a less than smoth arrival and put several sizable wrinkles and ripples plus two 8 inch tears in the fuzalage. Boeing flew in from Seattle to look at it. Reckon they can fix it but the price may exceed the hull value.

RE: Info required

I would imagine monc would be a high cycle aircraft.Maybe wind would have played a part.Possible nosewheel touched down first.
