Just for anyone that didn’t know (I don’t know if its already been mentioned) but it looks likely that JMC is to be re-branded again. I think that it is something to do with the fact that nobody (ie the general public) associates JMC with a tour operator and brand recognition is very poor in general.
It seems likely that the new name may be similar to that of the new Belgian counterpart Thomas Cook Airways.

RE: Renaming JMC
Thomas Cook as a brand is far better known and also Thomas Cook Holidays had more of a quality image. JMC hasn’t been around for very long, a bit of a waste of money I would have thought !!

RE: Renaming JMC
exactly dan330, brand recognition and all that.
I like the new Thomas Cook logo as much as the JMC one, probably even better. Should see some nice new colours in the not so distant future then..

RE: Renaming JMC
I actually think this is a good move.
Thomas Cook and JMC are the same company, why doesn’t Thomas deal with bookings and JMC just provide the flights?!
Because then you have to advertise two different companies which are like you say, the same.
Thomas Cook is a very well known company in the UK and as soon as people see the aircraft they know who it is. I think the idea behind Britannia and Hapag Lloyd having the same colours is a good one (even though the livery is crap!). Any non aviation fan will not have a clue who Hapag Lloyd is if they see it upon landing at their holiday destination. However if they have the same livery people will probably assume the good reputation of Britannia also applies to Hapag Lloyd.

RE: Renaming JMC
I loved the campaign on TV about unwrapping the price of holidays or something they did when they (on a computer) wrapped up a plane and a bus in brown wraping paper and during the add it came off to reveal the livery!

What a waste of time, they’ve only been around for little over two years and they are changing already.

JMC is to be known as Thomas Cook Airlines.they should have the same livery as the current Thomas Cook A320s.

RE: Renaming JMC
Oh no! this is not good. I too like the current JMC image. whenever i hear the letters ‘JMC’ i think of the airline…recognition problems…yeh right! (well maybe not for us plane spotters)

RE: Renaming JMC
I think JMC is better on short haul than they are on long haul. Most people seem happy with the shorter flights – is this all the crew on board can cope with?
I’ve certainly not enjoyed flights with them in the past!
LGKR – I noticed you were away (!!) I missed such a find avatar image! 😉

RE: Renaming JMC
I hope not – i for one am very impressed with the colours and image JMC achieved, much better than FCL and CKT had anyday!!
As for them changing livery and stuff I font think they shud, it was afterall them ho started the craze with bright and extremely loud colours!!

RE: Renaming JMC
Didn’t know this was going to happen! This means a very good chance of a new livery, which makes all of the charter carriers. Perhaps they felt left out with all of the others changing and decided to change thmselves!
