It might have been the telephoto lens foreshortening the picture but I don’t think he’d have cleared the cliff even if he had got off.

He got the nose off, just, but once he hit the damp sand on one side only it would start to drag him across, subsequently hitting water is like driving through a huge puddle when your car wants to steer towards it, his fate was sealed.

Isn’t that a real bummer?

You pull off the perfect precautionary landing and them make a cods of the subsequent take off.

I wonder what was happening? Not enough power to get off? Soft sand adding drag? Typical nosewheel driver’s use of the footrests?
