RE: ill

There´s something I enjoy more than planes and that´s cruising.

RE: ill

I nearly was this week… I drank an orange juice pror to landing on a short hawl flight (and ate at Mc Donalds 1 hour before flight). And the approach was “rough” (tuurbulence).

RE: ill

Not sure that it counts as being “ill” but generally I get off a plane feeling worse than when I got on.

Not so much on short flights, but long haul ones – certainly.

I only felt ill once; a 2 hour charter flight in a 5 seat Piper Aztec en-route to a game lodge in Zambia. When the sun has warmed the ground in the early afternoon, the thermals make it horrible! Felt fine about 30 mins after landing though.

RE: ill

I ended up getting a bit of a cold on my recent 7 hour flight. The same on the way back!! Probably due to the very cool air conditioning… and the “dirty air” (50% recycled).

RE: ill

I don’t think I’ve ever been ill on a plane, can’t remember being ill on a boat either, but I haven’t been on one for years and I hate sailing! Its the thought of being out at sea and not being able to see land that gets me more than the rocking.

RE: ill

poor old me sat on a 10 hour flight and then got on a cruise ship for a week. i never become sick on aircraft but sailing almost killed me.

my top tip is when you’re on a boat, simply go as far down as possible as there is not as much motion. if the boat rocks from side to side, it does so from the bottom which will not be quite as bad as the main decks up the top of the boat.

RE: ill

I normally feel ill on a flight over 2 hours,I get very bad stomach ache and my eyes feel very heavy and sting.I think its due to being stuck in a cramped chair and having to muchdrink before the flight as well as the food you get onboard,it is not exactley the nicest thing in the world…

RE: ill

Kind of easy . Sea sickness is due to a problem in the internal ear.
Your brain isn’t able to match what you see and what you feel.
That’s a balance issue.
What you see in a plane is different and the frequency of the oscillations is rather different too.

A good trick to fight sea sick: use a walkman or get …… drunk!
