Great picture of Sydney Kingsford Smith International taken in 1976 from the observation deck at the International Terminal looking across to the Domestic terminal of Ansett and TAA. Visible are a USAF C-131, just landed, and a BA 747 waiting to cross the runway.

yes but when you are a place like Sydney, BA livery looks the best compared with United or AA. They def stand out.

Yeh…I thought some of the world tails were good. It certainly brightened BA up a bit….though Maggie Thatcher didnt really like them!
T5…I believe they’ve started re-spraying. Obviously with the current financial situation its taking longer than first thought.

BA are supposedly being made to scrap the World Tails. Anyone have any idea when they are going to start?

I know everyone’s going to dis-agree with me, when I say that the World Tails were actually quite good looking. Oofff course, some of the tails were horrible, but some of them DID looks quite nice to me (like the ‘India’ tail, Water dreaming, Nalanji Dreaming, Wunala Dreaming) – I mean, it shoed a kind of bond between BA and it’s destinations.
As for why they put the ‘Denmark/Wings’ tail on their 747’s, I have no clue, but hey, I’m a Dane, so I can’t complain 😀

Nice pic saab.
The current BA livery (C. Dockyard), I think, is a good one.

Good photo… it’s a shame that BA did not keep that livery, certainly the best of the last few they have had.
