Funny Ha Ha

The crew of an…(insert airline of choice)…Boeing 737 are an final approach to an airport to which they are unfamiliar when the captain says to the first officer, “Whoa, thats one hell of a short runway!”, to which the first officer replies, “yeah, but just look how wide it is!”
Cheers, Dazza.:7

Stan & Ollie
Harold Lloyd
Buster Keaton
Marx Bros
Bob Hope
Abbott and Costello (Very especially the Who’s on first sketch)
The Belles of St Trinians and any other Ealing type comedy.
Eric and Ernie
Tommy Cooper
Most of “The Comedians” from the 70’s. Very especially Les Dawson.
Minder.
Modern stuff….Ross Noble, Bill Bailey, Dara O’Briain, Tank Sherman. So long as they are funny I like them. No need for the language of Chubby Brown (His jokes are funny without the swearing). B. Manning was a very great comic.
Little Britain was OK for two series, then they ran out of ideas and thus just made the characters more disgusting whilst wearing out the same tired joke.
Only Fools and Horses will always make me chuckle…but they should have never made another one after they became Millionaires.

I highly recommend Jeff Dunham, too, but I suspect he’s not hugely well known here still…

FYI: He’s a pilot who has built two (or three) Rotorway helicopters.
He’s done free shows at the EAA’s Oshkosh event the past two years and has been a huge hit.

What makes me laugh? I still find it hard to beat the Marx brothers.

When I do watch TV, I enjoy Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, QI, 8 out of 10 Cats.

I also have every (current) series of American Dad! and Family Guy on DVD, as well as the likes of Father Ted, Beavis and Butthead, and Spaced.

I highly recommend Jeff Dunham, too, but I suspect he’s not hugely well known here still…

I share your liking of the surreal in Bill Bailey’s work. Of course, the father of such comedy was Spike Milligan. Try this classic from the Goon Show:

And much of radio comedy is great for listening to while you’re busy. Watch out for I’m Sorry I’ll Read That Again when it comes up on Radio 7 or borrow the discs from the library.
