The Tesna deal has failed, Ansett is going be flying into the history books!
Today Tesna chairmen, Lindsay Fox and Solomon Lew Walked out of the ACTU building in Canberra with tears in their eyes. “We just couldn’t make the deal happen nor turn it around! We had a team of 90 lawers helping us and they said that they wouldn’t allow us to cash a cheque on property that was not seccure!”
“We had six aircraft and two terminals, we needed more than this to get it going” said Solomon Lew
The ACTU stands by their actions saying that they were looking out for the workers and trying to keep them employed!
The government said that their hands were tied, they literally could do nothing! P.M. John Howard went on to say “My first thoughts are with the workers, they have now got no jobs and it’s going to be a rough time for them, their whole lives will have to change”!
But most surprising of all was the reaction of the creditors of Ansett, they are still looking to blame somebody for the whole affair! They are now trying to decide what to do, whether to liquidate or try one last time to find a buyer!
Subsidary airlines Hazelton, Kendell and Aeropelican all say that they are uneffected by the lose and it will be business as usual for them!

Ja, there is also the new QANTAS budget carrier affiliate, Australian Airlines which is due to launch in September this year. The proposed colour scheme is a mottled burnt earth orange on white reflecting a very Australian feel.

Ben thrie profit soared, up 42c to nearly A$4.50.
Like I said to everyone, there is another A/L waiting to take off in April, called Spirit!
It’s not the end of cheap fares yet!
