Hi all,
Just a quick question – i am flying out of Manchester to Lanzorote Arrecife on 20th March 2002 departing sometime between 7.30 and 8.30 oon a Britannia Aircraft. Unfortunatly as it is a school trip and group booking so i don’t kno the a/c type – and i got a bet on with a lass so i need to kno!!!
If not it doesn’t mater i will just send off for the TAS Timetable – it just saves me a couple of quid!!
Thanks

RE: Manchester Flights – help with a/c type
well a 763 seems a bit exteame so it might be a 752/62 – this might cost me money and my rep!!!

I think the 738s have been sent away perminantly. G-BYNC was based at EGNM during last summer, but this year they have upgraded to a 752.
I would say a 752 seems realistic for your trip.

Hmm… so we seem to have narrowed it down to a 752/763. Considering they only operate 757s, 767s and 737s, we have made little progress! 🙁
They should do what British Airways do and tell you what aircraft will be providing the service(s) on their website. Good old BA – I was able to find out that I would be going on a 734 and returning on an A319 when I recently went to Barcelona.

Yeah well i heard a few rumours about a 762 – it comes in once a week to Leeds on the Alicante run on a ‘W’ pattern flight from Manchy – was thinking it might b that but not sure – also the BY 738’s G-BYNB/C have been sent to Sweden perminantly – G-BYAB is now SE-DZN i believe as it is still a regular at Leeds

I forgot about the 738’s, but I doubt whether these will be used to Manchester. I was at Manchester on Saturday and the only other aircraft operating a Britannia flight was the Prime A300 which is usually at East Midlands, it could be this that you go on :(.

I flew Gatwick to Girona during lo-season on a 757. I too, doubt that at this time of the year they will use a 767.
Not forgetting, BY also operate 738s(?) correct me if I’m wrong. They may also use one of them being such an unbusy time of the year for package holidays.
As I said in an earlier post, it’s going to be a 757, I’m about 80% sure.

I will be very surprised if its not a 757-200, I’ve seen 767’s at Lanzarote in the summer but I doubt a winter flight will be one.
Where are you staying in Lanzarote? There is a great beach that runs right around the end of the runway, the planes fly very low over your head. You can also walk around the other side and get some good views of the runway.
Also, a school trip to Lanzarote, the furthest I ever got on a school trip was Wales!

Hi,
Being a regular Britannia passenger myself and having done a similar sort of European flight before… I am pretty sure it is a 757, dunno what series though!
