Leaving Norwich this evening …. Heading for the sun …. Barkway and Beyond !
Do these still have diesel engines ? It certainly sounded so !

Thank you all for your thoughts on this ! Yes it seems Mr Thielert had a very ‘unusual business practise’ or two !
Having just read the Wikipedia account ….

All seems safe now with the engines under control of Centurion Aircraft Engines.

If I am not mistaken there is an issue with the engines after Thielert went into administration and there was nobody around to give them support.
I am not sure if this has been cleared up or not.
Apparently the economy of operating the aircraft on considerably cheaper JET A1 (compared to Avgas) is somewhat offset by the awful smell in the cabin from the residue diesel fuel in the tester.

Yes, the plane has the Thielert TAE-125 diesels. The plane belongs to the inevitable Delaware trust company, namely Able Liston Aviation.

Used to see loads of them at Cranfield until cabair went bust.
Now I think we only have one there belonging to Azure.
Nice shot, wonder who owns that one?
