Redundant Airfield

Are you or do know anyone who might be interested in taking over and operating a redundant Airfield? I’m a member of a group who thinks it has great potential and are trying to keep it open. Any suggestions appreciated.

Total thread hi-jack, not to worry.

I always felt that the name change from Datsun to Nissan was to put some distance between the early rot boxes and later models.

Well it was a pretty vague initial post which has yet to be followed up. But meanwhile, no, I have no idea about Nissan / Datsun.

However if you want to know anything about Zero Emission Nissan, I am your man.

Moggy as you are involved with Nissan, any idea why they changed their name from Datsun many moons ago?

From Wiki:
On March 20, 2012, Nissan announced a plan to revive Datsun as a low-cost marque, 31 years after removing it from its line-up. The Japanese carmaker said the brand’s reputation for value and reliability would help it in emerging markets. Datsun models will be sold in Indonesia, Russia and India from 2014. Nissan has not decided where the Datsun-branded cars will be produced, but a spokesman said that it was likely to be in Asia.

It seems they’ll be back in a couple of years…

From what I can gather Datsun was only a trade name of Nissan, and they wanted a united corporate identity.

I’m currently on a freelance job for Nissan, I’d quite like to be doing something with Nissens too – but I am guessing that would cost, rather than pay 🙂

If he is trying to keep it open, it isn’t redundant yet, you really need to add the odd detail such as part of the world… No good getting someone in Scotland interested in an airfield in Cornwall etc.., hope you get there 😀

Why a redundant one?. why not form a group to support an existing small one thats in use but struggling?. i think its quite difficult for anyone at the mo to keep a basic WW2 Nissan hut up to scratch never mind a whole airfield.

where do you have in mind though??
