[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-01-02 AT 05:01 PM (GMT)]Easyjet has confirmed it’s in talks with Boeing and Airbus about buying 75 new aircraft for delivery up to 2007.They will decide whether to go for the Boeing 737-700 or A319, based on the operating and financial benefits of the aircraft.Thenumber of aircraft it decides to buy may change during the course of the negotiations.
EasyJet’s fleet currently consists of 18 Boeing 737-300 and nine Boeing 737-700 aircraft.It plans to buy a further 23 Boeing 737-700s by May,2004,taking its fleet to 48 aircraft allowing for two 737-300 retirements.Good news for the aviation industry!
