Yesterday I saw a very interresting documentary on the Discovery Channel about this remarkable airport. It’s probably the most expensive airport ever build, it’s a floating island in the middle of the sea with the biggest airporthall ever. It’s also very expensive to operate from here, so they are thinking of making a second runway so that all sorts of airliners could operate from here, including cargo-airliners.
One problem is that the island is sinking 30 cm every year and one day the sea may swallow the whole airport.
Any comments, pictures … ?

RE: Kansai airport
Thanks harry. You’ve also shown the airporthall with the futuristic airconditioning (thanks to the specific ceiling the fresh air can reach every point of the hall). Nice documentary.
