Flight Simulator

Im looking at purchasing the microsoft flight sim 2ooo.
Now help me out here because there are two, flight sim 2000, and flight sim 2000 (professional edition). The latter being more expensive. Have any of you got both, if so which should i get?

Also, Airport 2000 vol 2, is this another sim game or is it a “create your own airport” game. I think its connected to fight sim. Do you need one to have the other?

What are your thoughts on these products? If you have the know, please educate me!!

RE: Flight Simulator

I have FS2000 PRO. The Pro version has more planes, the IFR panels, more scenery and some other small stuff. If you want a FS now, go for the Microsoft FS2000 PRO. However, I would have to agree with the other people that have replied and say that you should what for the 2002 version

RE: Flight Simulator

I have never bought a computer game simulator but have had a go on the real thing. Yes it is possoble to have a go on a real
fligt simulator through a company called
www.virtualaviation.co.uk. This company hires out British Airways simualtors which are located at Heathrow mostly at weekend when they are not being used. To sit on the fligt deck of a boeing 747-400 in the captains seat and land and take off is just fantastic. You have an instructor sitting in the first officers seat who keeps thing under control but you are handling the controls. The simulator replicates everything and it is hard to think you have not left the ground. Dont bother with a computer game save up your cash for a go on a real simulator.
You will not be dissappointed.

RE: Flight Simulator

IF you buy FS2002, will all the add on’s for FS2000 work with it? Or will I have to start buying them all over again.

I’ve had enough problems already getting this sim to work.

Rich.

RE: Flight Simulator

Hi there,
Don’t buy FS2000, wait until FS2002 comes out, it is going to have faster frame rates, increased texture quality, and better cockpits, the scenery from what I saw, looks photorealistic.
If you want to get onto Hardcore Cockpit Simulation, coupled with excellent Scenery, buy Fly! II.
Also If you get Fly!II I would recommend buying PMDG B777-200, when that is updated for it(www.precisionmanuals.com), go for it. I am going to buy both, so I can get the best of both worlds, ha hah ha

RE: Flight Simulator

From FS3 onwards, it has always been a great sim (for its period). FS2002 Will be great, i saw screenshots on the web (forgot the URL, sorry). But if you’ve got to buy’em all, it will be expensive. If you want to be sure it is what hou like, try lending a backup copy to a friend 😮

RE: Flight Simulator

I have both FS 98 and 00.Fs 2000 is good the buildings have much more detail. But i use 98 more and have many add ons for this.Airport 2000 is EXCELLENT!!!7 realistic airports which include,Nice,Chigago O Hare,Barcalona el prat, heathrow, amsterdam, boston and miam. There are also 7 aircraft.Best thing i think is the adventures with the live atc.You can aso get airport 2000 v1 and now v2.In my opinion get it once you have brought a flight simulator.

RE: Flight Simulator

The big differences with the versions of FS2000 is the amount of scenery you get. The pro version gives you more scenery to fly around in, and I think you get a couple more aircraft too.

Airport 2000 vol 2 is a scenery add-on for flight sim which enhances several international airports with realistic scenery and also includes dynamic scenery, ie other aircraft can be seen landing, taxying and taking off. Be warned, this add-on requires a fast PC with a good graphics card as the detail is really intense.

RE: Flight Simulator

I think (not sure) that the difference between FS2000 normal and pro is that the pro vers. contains also IFR panels (for the mooney, the king air, ..) There shoul also be other differences, but.. I don’t know.
