Now there's a tail…

I was in the hangar next door…. it made a fair old noise….

JT – I was studying every day at Baginton when that happened. Embarrassing that it was lashed down and the storm was forecast.

Well, I did take it in the ’80’s I think…

Me-109, don’t forget to check out the DC-3 Mosquito Bombers at Marathon on the way down. Sugarloaf Key’s strip is worth a look in too. I found a really nice Beech 18 there on one of my visits. There used to be one or two WACO UPF-7’s joy riding at Key West. I flew a WACO YMF-5 from Marathon, but I think that’s long gone now. If you haven’t already done it, take the Caravan amphib from Key West to the Dry Tortugas.

Thanks for telling me that, I love the keys, so much to see, we always head out to Fort Jefferson (AMAZING!) and usually end up in the Rum Barrel in the evening after a stroll around Key West.

Will keep a look out for other aircraft stuff and will keep you informed 😀

Here’s another tail… this time an F-27 at Coventry a few years ago… something to do with a strong wind, jumped chocks, hit a hangar….

Spanish tail now. Well it was in the Museo del Aire at Cuatros Vientos, Madrid.

The “tail sticking out of a building” (usually bars/pubs) is getting a bit old.

Here we have a building demolition company that resells/repurposes materials and they actually built an airfarme that they placed on their building’s roof. It consists of a rear fuselage, tailplane and a wing sticking up at a dramatic angle.
Looks very real.
Kind of fun, but since it’s just 3-4 blocks from the local GA airport, in somewhat questionable taste (IMHO).
