Nice shot Moggy!! I popped up this morning and saw a lady giving her some TLC???

Indeed. That would almost certainly be Sue the part owner and pilot who I accompanied on her adventure. I am afraid the aircraft looked more than a little travel-stained by the time we got back, mostly thanks to the AN2 that was parked close on the San Sebastian ramp, and had obviously been started at some point during the weekend covering the entire port side with a thin mist of oil.

Ah, memories! I visited Andrewsfield first on a hike from a Cub Scout camp, when the RAM was there (c1981) then, years later, got bladdered at Young Farmers booze-ups in the grain store visible just behind N99ET’s prop. The last time I was there, we turned the car round on a convenient piece of concrete, got a bit carried away looking at the remains of fittings in the concrete, forgetting that we’d stopped right in line with the runway:o. Luckily, we twigged before anyone was inconvenienced! Incidentally, the concrete taxiway is the morta remains – just a single bay – of the main runway. I believe a few yards of full-width runway also survive near Onchers Farm, where Marconi used it as a hard standing in the 1960s.

Nice shots, Simon. Welcome to the forum! Thanks for posting.

The hangars could do with a bit of a touch-up 😮 (paint-wise!).

Indeed excellent shots, good to see some civil aircraft. Great little airfield, only been there once but was made most welcome.

The hangars have “character”. Guess a coat of paint wouldn’t change them that much. Recently erected hangars may look pristine but are rather sterile.

Thanks again!!

Yes Wyvernfan the runway is grass but there is a concrete road that runs parallel to the strip, Its a great little airfield with a great clubhouse open to all serving food and drinks from the bar,

They are more than welcoming to visitors, I took some shots on the flight line a few weeks ago after asking them and popping a hi-vis jacket on! :):)

Yea the French Airforce Dassault MD-454 Mystere IVA is still there AdlerTag and have just popped a few shots of it sinking into the mud on the Historic Aviation part of this forum for you!

Again thanks for your kind comments!!

Thanks for your kind comments!

Only had my camera about a month and am new to the hobby so am pleased with some of the shots I am getting!

Am learning by playing with the camera in manual mode and reading lots of books and magazines!

Hope to get a 250mm Lens next month so should be interesting!

Thanks again!!
