Cessna pilot's £2,000 Royal Fly-past zone bust

So says the Daily Mail.

I hope the owner of G-BURH (some random Cessna) does not mind having a picture of his aeroplane included in this sorry account.

Air traffic controllers ordered the RAF crews to dive 300ft, while Remnant was ordered to fly 300ft upwards to avert a disaster.

Glad to see they made the Cessna climb with the massive amounts of power it has and the underpowered Tornado descend……

Bit **** about face that, but then they do tend to make up articles as they go along.

I know of somebody over in America who obliviously flew into a TFR whilst the President was in town. The FAA have since revoked his licence!

What a clown! 😮

Taking the (well deserved) mickey out of the superbly trained and well-informed Daily Mail hack or hackettes aside…

…this does raise the point again of the CAA’s NOTAM service still being distributed in a form of hyroglyphics that was originally designed for teleprinters.

This unfortunate pilot’s main mistake was not realising that the times were UTC/GMT rather than BST, so he apparently bimbled off an hour out.

Perhaps information in plain English could have avoided embarrasment, a court case and potentially, a very big accident?
