RE: worst ever flight
4 years ago, possibly my worst flight occured going coast-to-coast here in Australia from Sydney to Perth on a B767. For those unfamiliar with Oz, this is roughly the same as Chicago to LA, or Moscow to Paris, say. Usually about 4hrs. 15mins., this horror was in winter on a bad head-wind day, so flt. time this day was a whopping 4hrs. 57min (according to my log book).
The horror took the form of moderate to heavy turbulence for pretty much all of that 4h57min.! It was like riding a dirt road in a clapped-out tractor. Cabin service was suspended pretty early on after 1) the ceiling (!) received a washing with Coke and 2) the crew strapped themselves in for the duration. For whatever reason – either traffic or futility, the skipper was unable to climb or descend out of it.
All on board – pax & crew were either sick, or a terrific shade of green by the end of it. Landing at 12:00 midday, it cost me the rest of the day’s work as all I was able to do was go to sleep in the hotel till late-afternoon.

RE: worst ever flight
Hello. My worst flight was when I went to NY from London. I think I was on an old BA 747-100/200 (not sure which) and I was given seats right at the back which we hadn’t asked for and it was a cramped, uncomfortable flight. The service was very poor: They ran out of drinks half way through and I couldn’t see the TV on the bulkhead! I appreciate how good TV’s in the back of seats are now! I hope nobody else had that experience on one of their flights, there food was also terrible and they ran out of certain meals… Absolutely terrible.
But it didn’t affect my loyalty to BA and I had a thourouly enjoyable flight this time round.
Regards

RE: worst ever flight
Mine was on Air India from London to New York on one of their old 747s in August 1998. I was seated in business class on the upper deck and if that was anything to go by then I would not like to have been in economy.
The seats looked and felt as if they had been rescued from a jumble sale and when I reached for the personal televsion I just found loose wires. The crew were pleasant but lacked that certain air of professionalism ie at times, I really did feal as if I were in the middle of a Indian jumble sale.

Hmm… Try flying from Seoul/Kimpo to Sydney with Korean!
Taking off in the middle of the night, running into a storm, I’m positive that I heard the engine being restarted at least 3 times, the went from no nise to a high-pitch noise, like he was speeding up. I was unfortunate enough to have a seat on the last row (I believe it was a B-777, can’t remember), so when a fellow bot to much to drink, had a fight with the flight-attendant and the captain he was placed in the back of the plane, put in handcuffs and the he cried for a couple of hours until a doctor was brought in to give him some relaxing medication (though I DO believe that I heard a clank or something just before he went out!). Then, in the last 2 hours or so I was watching Mission to Mars, when they stopped the movie 1 hour before landing.. annyoing! And then the drunk bloke started again.
The only light point of the whol thing was that I was awake when we landed. When I landed in Seoul (from Heathrow in a 747) I was sleeping without wearing my belt and without my chair in the right position.. Not looking forward to going back!

RE: worst ever flight
A flight on an Icelandair 737-400 with faulty engines.
Most flights on Air New Zealand.
A flight on an Air New Zealand 767-300, there must have been about 300 cigarette ends stuffed down the side of my seat when I sat down. The seat cover dropped off the seat in front, exposing the bare wood. The plane had not been touched by cleaners before it went into service again, it just landed from one flight and filled up straight away for the next one.

Ok, so we are talking about the worst experience. Try to travell with Indian Airlines and Air India and u can get an experience of a life time. Once i was abord the AI B747-300 and the upper deck was filled with the smell of Indian food and short while after take of I heard an airhostess crying and I was for a momment like what had happened. One of the air hostess replied she is crying due to some family problems and I was likw what the hell is this most of the people were up from there sleep after they heard the crying. Than after some time for refreshments what in the hell we get, orange juice in tetra pack with straws and i was going mad at that time. Before landing when I was going to strap my belt on the belt broke and came out in my hand and I had to land without a safety belt. It was a terrible experience. Some times these kind of airlines go bonkers.
regards
Kabir:)

Try Transair A300 tfs-man. the flight was delayed due to a tech problem and when we boarded our meal of a rather strange looking salad creation was already waiting for us on our seats!!!!! Having boarded and doors closed a pa was made to announce a further delay due to a tyre change. seated in soring temperatures we clutched our meals for a further hour before eventually becoming airborne. the coffee would strip paint and the inflight entertainment consisted of the extreemly rude cabin staff slagging off the passengers in the rear galley!!
