how long and how much will it cost to build the successor of Concorde? As said in Airliner World, perhaps a collaboration between europe and the US could work. The scale of the a3xx project costwise would be nothing compared to a plane that could fly faster and carry more than Concorde. But its that uniqueness of being British and French and being the second (Tu 144) supersonic plane to fly, it will always have a special place in people’s hearts, don’t u think?

RE: Concorde sibling
Concorde will need to be modified and re-certified if it is to fly again, and this will cost the two operating airlines millions. I personally think that the aircraft will not enter passenger service again, which is a terrible shame.
Lets face it though, even if the Paris crash didn’t happen the aircraft was living on borrowed time. In this day and age, communities around airports are very sensitive about aircraft noise and if an airliner is not chapter III compliant, it has a bleak future. If you have been on the deck at LHR and heard Concorde take off, you will know what I mean.
As for a possible replacement for Concorde, I wouldn’t rule it out, but I doubt if we’ll see one for a very long time.

Condorde
yeh man, we should get another aircraft like it flying. Maybe we could have a company like Boeing make one, although I know that they won’t be bothered. But we brits should concentrate on getting condorde up and running again, (but only with our beloved BA). Not with Air France, as they are a bunch of Ars*ho*les.
(i’m not gay you know).

RE: Concorde sibling
Projects like Concorde will also have a special place in governments and companies bank accounts. I think european companies should concentrate on the A3XX -project and finish it before any new project.
