Back to the bush flyers. Check this out, although one or two get things a little wrong!

Perhaps you just pretend it’s all for real and just enjoy the footage. After all You Tube is all for fun and in the great scheme of things highly proficient fakery is to be admired, I suppose.:)
Spot on:)

I think if it’s outragous you have to be suspicious, but on the whole most of the aeroplane tapes are pretty good. Sometimes it can get confusing with real and large r/c models, also people mislabelling what they post. But there are some gems.

So, how do you know what’s real and what’s faked, unless you have personal knowledge of the alleged incident?
No idea.
I accepted it at face value on first viewing too. It was only after wiser heads than mine dissected it that the trickery was established.

Although I cannot locate the tape explaining the viral advert, I found the tape that they based the idea from. It was a guy flying a radio controlled aeroplane in the USA……………..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRm63pANH9o
now this really was a feat in (radio control) flying and done some years prior to the full size one. note the similarity.
Apart from the actual film and awkward way the aeroplane touches down without collapsing the U/C and destroying the prop, there was no pilot interview. No one can identify the aircraft and no one has identified the pilot, it never made the news, it has never been shown in Flight or other related magazines. It was/is a clever advertising tool put together on a photoshop type programme and released on you-tube.
wish I’d thought of it!!
Baz
Thank you for that, Baz. And as you say a helluva r/c flying feat. As an occasional visitor to You Tube footage should I be very wary of fake footage? And if so how do you separate the real from the fake? Take it all with a grain of salt, or..?
