Sounds uneconomic to me.
”Hi All, just thought i would inform you all that the project luscombe i was working on and completed at the end of last year sadly came to an end on christmas eve, after flying a grand total of 3hrs 45mins since permit issue. At the end of ground roll, flipped onto roof, complete constructors loss. gonna cost at least 20k to repair including labour.
Shame as i enjoyed flying it for all of 1.5hrs and was looking forward to arriving at one of the meets.
If i knew how to post photos on here i would, appologies.
If anyone wants photos pm and i can email if you want to upload them onto here for me.
Pilot was ok, bump to head and broken rib, wasnt me.
Paul

So, it is a Luscombe Silvaire 8A, very pretty. Don’t really think it is a write off, just wait and see!:)

Just to bring this one to a close, I think the picture says it all.
The aeroplane had very recently been restored, was 3 hours after ‘first flight’, and now a write off 🙁
I won’t bother guessing again…

Oh lordy, first day of 2009 and already the nasty boys are picking on me:p
This is the year of my anti ‘anti-speculation’ campaign, and I intend to rashly speculate on pretty much everything.
I will further speculate that it was not a PA28, although one is based there, since they are not known for ‘tipping over’, whereas Cubs and Tigers are.

A Super Cub, most likely, though a couple of Tiger Moths come in and out of Clacton, when not at Duxford.
I saw a PA28 fly over Clacton about 5 years ago, so could have been one of them…….
Any ‘positive’ news?

Plane ‘tipped’ over! Pilot safe in hospital.
