Sad to report that the Norwich Evening paper is showing that Steve Shutt did not make it.
As a former resident of Hingham it is especially sad for me.
R.I.P.

Here’s hoping the second occupant of the aeroplane recovers.
I understand that a decision has had to be taken which means this is unlikely to be the case and that Steve Shutt will be with us for very little longer.

Seething Crash
Gentlemen
yes it was a Christen Eagle.
with regard to Sky’s comments;
My father leant to fly at Seething in the 70’s and remained flying into the late 80’s. All of the instructors were of an extremely high standard then. I would guess that tradition has followed on. The club runs on a Non-profit voluntary basis to keep costs down but not on “shoe-string”. Considering the high number of hours flown from the club, its track record is extremely good.
No updates on local news regarding the 2nd occupant, I assume still in intensive care.

Wondering about Christen Eagle-
Trim tab in middle of rudder and two bracing wires per side.
I think you will find thats the elevator and the A/C is on its side.
Sad news, thoughts as always with family and friends:(

Re: the Sky News article. I’m amazed that as so many are criticising the headline on the reply section below the story, that the News Editor hasn’t woken up and removed the offending words.
Sadly it says a lot for the poor standards in the News Room when the error is allowed to continue.
Can I suggest that everyone reading this thread, goes onto the Sky News link and records their criticism? Maybe they’ll get the hint?
Finally, condolences to the deceased pilot’s family and friends. Here’s hoping the second occupant of the aeroplane recovers.

Right on Yak11
With you on that one Chris. I’m involved in the story with Anglia, but what a stupid line for SKY to go with. Tragically Ian Davies has been named this morning as the casualty. Obviously everyones thoughts and prayers will be with his family and friends, colleagues. The other PoB isn’t yet named but we all know who it is and we can only hope and pray for their recovery. A genuine case of freak occurrance it appears.

Sky news emphasising ‘low cost’ flight tuition.:o

Terrible news.
Reports say a 2-seater, from the BBC image it looks like something vintage-ish, a biplane perhaps, with fabric covering.
Acrosport perhaps ?
