A Titan Tornado, small homebuilt aircraft, struck a car while taking off from a highway in California. The pilot was killed, 3 people in the car were injured.
OK, I can understand if you have to make an emergency landing on a highway..You HAVE to land..that is one thing. But then turning around and taking off. Strikes me as a bit reckless, as was sadly proven!

The passengers refused medical attention. The pilot was 68 years old.:(
