My blood best friend of 40 years, we were cousins, died of a massive stroke after surviving a twelve hour operation on his aorta a few days ago.
He was 58.
He was a bachelor as he could not afford a marriage and hobbies at the same time, he used to sky-dive to point he made money teaching.
When his mom died a few years back, the house where he kept his magazines, as the house needed too much repair they sold it but they had to get a dumpster just to hols his magazines, which filled every inch of his old bedroom. He simply did not want to try to move them.
As my old bedroom at home is over filled with my own library I could not take any and his mom lived only a block from me.
Key publishing is going to lose a regular income from him as he bought several of their journals regularly and did for decades.
He was the one person I could have hours long conversations and take trips regarding planes and trains.
Christmas day he would wander over about ten PM after the celebrations at our houses were over and we would exchange gifts and bs till 2 AM.
I am missing badly already.
Every time I see Key publishing I will think of him, fondly.

It certainly is. Unlike the sister thread about domestic pet deaths I can truly empathise with you, Bob, in your loss of a close friend. It has happened to me three times in the last few years and the pain is a long time leaving.

Sorry to hear of this Bob….losing a best friend is a big blow especially to go at his relatively young age.
Best mates are hard to replace…and I hope you get over your loss soon.
