Hey All,
I have Beagle S/N 033 N46880 Ex-RAF XS-781
It’s a Series 1 Beagle (CC Mk1)
I’ve got a spare engine in a crate (GIO-470-A)
All the Ops, Maintenance and Build manuals
It will need either 1 2 bladed McCauley Prop (2AF36C68/100 RFM-10)
or 2 Cessna 401 3 bladed props. (WHich I have the paperwork to allow in the U.S.) and a right wingtip extension outboard of the spar.
I am looking to either restore this ship to flight status, trade it for something I can fly or sell it outright.
I will sorely miss this aircraft, but I shouldn’t sit without flying.
more info is available at:
Thanks,
Richard

There has never been a rush as the last time we sent parts to the U.S it cost my friend a lot of money and unfortunately at the time of sending the container we had not been able to locate a suitable cockpit to go in the container. So it left with just two wings and a rear fuselage in it which wasn’t in wonderful condition hence why I want to send a better one.
The Chipmunk is N122DH which was damaged in a hurricane circa probably ten years ago so a year or so later doesn’t really make a difference in the bigger scheme of things.
Rich – as for sending parts and not receiving things – maybe you could post on this for someone who knows me ? Or indeed ask the editor of the magazine that owns this website. As for the propeller – as the secretary of the Beagle club as he looked at it three months ago for a U.K Beagle.

You’ll forgive me if I am a bit skeptical….an e-mail I have from you dated January, 2007 talks about sending a rear fuselage to Ophelia. Seems odd that it’s been over a year and they are still in the UK.
Have you ever actually sold or delivered parts to anyone in the US? If so I’d like to chat with them. Sending funds overseas and then not receiving anything happens all too often in this world.
Thanks,
Rich

Th parts are for Ophelia – however there is a delivery address near the Navy yard at Norfolk. I deal in the U.K with a company called RH Freight Ltd. The idea at present is one crate containing either rear fuse/tailplane and propeller or one with fuselage and prop. Doesn’t really matter which.

David,
What Chipmunk parts? Is this for Ophelia?

Richard – I don’t keep old emails – from memory I needed to carry out some fairly delicate negociations to get it and that took time. A U.K interest has been to see it but as it stands it’s still here in my way.
If you can arrange to get some Chipmunk parts to the U.S for a friend – I can probably send the prop with it.

David,
If you’ll recall, I attempted to buy your prop over a year ago. All I got was aggravated. Take a look at the old email trail.
If you’d like to try again let me know privately.
Thanks,
Richard

My prop is a 2AF36C68 TC911 PC3 ex Basset with a slight dink on the rear edge of one blade which could be straightened out.
