Stroud prononciation…

Been hearing about UKIP’s candidate for the Stroud constituency – Da de da…

Why oh why do both the powers that be and the media continue to pronounce Stroud (Gloucestershire ) as Strood (Kent )

Oops – yes of course. Stroud in Gloucestershire is a red herring and nothing to do with the topic.

That’s cos it’s Rochester and Strood that he stood for and won -]

He has’nt won it yet. By-election due November 6.

Purely on the strength of what’s above and thinking of current affairs, I thought it was the Strood and Rochester by election that was in the limelight just now. Am I missing something?
