Luckily the pub where we often go for a meal (as it’s only a short walk), has a dedicated family area. Well away from
where we normally sit. No annoying muzak either.

Free Wi-Fi too 🙂

No, we did have pubs that we could go to for that, but most of those that continued the practise closed, as they made no money. Any publican with any sense will welcome children with open arms, as it guarantees them some income.

Of course there will always be a corner where the kiddies cant go….

I think the difference is that here in the UK we have pubs, places that grown ups can go, be mostly assured they aren’t going to be bothered by other people’s ill-behaved offspring and where beer and adult food is available.

My experience of US bars (limited) could explain why ‘seniors’ might prefer to go where they serve kiddy pap.

I have been in BK’s here and in Oz (where they are called Hungry Jack’s) the last time about ten years back. The only thing I could say for it was that it was marginally preferable to McDonalds.

The burger bar scene in Falling Down sums it all up for me.

Yes, well done that man. Never been in a BK myself, but I know how he feels.
Whenever we go in a restaurant now, I always ask to be seated as far away from any children as possible.
As well as any tables with parties of women.

My ears cant take it any longer.

I think you make my point. It’s a kiddies facility.

Not around here. I went into one a couple of weeks back (it’s near a DIY store I shop at) and it was filled with seniors having a mid-morning get together.
A bright, clean place with senior discounts on sandwiches and drinks…they seemed to be having a great time.

It reminded me of the old Monty Python sketch about the seniors taking over a neighborhood and roughing up a motorcycle gang.

No problem with his action, but any grown-up who goes to BK for a ‘treat’ must be a little suspect.

You have issues with soft ice cream cones for $.75? 🙂
