Just been reading Moggies Post re L.V. 72, and it’s “Possible” preservation.
If money were no object, what would you have liked to have seen preserved in hindsight?.and why?.

Yes, I agree inasmuuch as a Eurofighter fails to hold as much of my attention as say……a Tiger Moth.

Bristol Superfreighter..no attempt to save one of the last two rotting away in the early 1970’s even after preservation was in vogue for rare types. There was a half-heated mention about the need to save one but the type was just left to become extict.
A lot of the earlier types became extinct becuase they just didn’t think that way then
The last Hermes for example, quietly did it’s last service then promply flew away to be broken up.
Nowadays it would have been enthusiasts flights brfore going off to be preserved.

Preferably, H.M.S. HOOD. The Americans have their ARIZONA, however, HOOD is too deep, and far beyond any restoration, but that would be nice though.

All, so far, we have had, but have, as I stated before, have confined them to the History books.

Well Moggs, they have managed to recreat Bletchley Park as I understand, to it’s former War state. I recon it’s a good idea, as then there would be a place for any surviving aircraft from that era, plus a great storage area, for restoration work etc.
As it’s been many years since I visited Mildenhall, or Alconbury, whats happened to those two?.
