I gave my supplier a meter reading, then received an email saying my monthly bill would be increasing to £119 (£13 more) per month.
So I clicked the link in the email and viewed my bill which says it’s staying the same.
Now I’m happy to pay for what I use but they could at least get their stories straight.
I’m beginning to think they just make all this stuff up?

Switching is indeed painless and profitable!!

It really is worth trying Uswitch or a similar site to compare prices. Switching suppliers is actually very easy – and we’re currently paying about half what we were paying five years ago, despite all the price hikes since then. A lot of the new, small companies seem much more user-friendly too.

My electricity supplier ended up owing me over one thousand pounds; I was that much in credit but to make matters worse they were unable, for months, to send me a statement so I knew how much electricity I had actually used.
I demanded my money back only to be told it would take twenty-eight working days to do so (during which time they collected more money via my direct-debit); and their reason for the delay…
…time to check in case they had made a mistake (and paid me back too much of my money) and I wouldn’t be able to pay it back to them promptly!

No doubt another excuse to bump prices up. 🙁

I do it all online now. They send a reminder, I fill in the readings and get an instant bill. (quarterly)
Then post a cheque off.
